About BeSeenOnABike.com

BeSeenOnABike was formed & managed by Chris Street since March 2005. BeSeenOnABike (www.beseenonabike.com) is a division of Megapixels Ltd (established 1999, trading as DataMind Datamind.co.uk) in Ringwood, Hampshire, England.

Why was BeSeenOnABike formed?

Since 1999, Chris Street has been a Hampshire Cycle Training Scheme Instructor. Each year at Burley School during Summer term he teaches 11 year old children the Stage 2 Cycle Training Scheme.

Chris Street fell off his bike whilst on a ride with CRABS (Christchurch Ramshackle Antique Bicycle Society) in July 2004. Maybe a piece of his 1940s bike snapped off and became lodged in the wheels - the cause of the accident is not known. He was unconscious for 7 minutes and remembered nothing for 3 days thereafter. Despite a one inch chunk being taken out of his helmet he escaped serious injury. Chris fully recovered by the 4th day after the accident.

Sharon Street - 'accident' with her son on his bike On night in February 2005, Chris's wife Sharon was in a friends car. Her friend was dazzled by house security lights and she almost hit a teenager on his bike who was with his group of friends. The group included their 14 year old son. Most of these cyclists did not have all their bike lights in use and were not wearing any reflective gear.

The idea of BeSeenOnABike was born!
